Born 8 May 1975 in a small town called Pniel nestled at the foot of Simons Mountain in the Western Cape, South Africa.

Matriculated in 1993 at Luckhoff High School in Stellenbosh and successfully completed management development programmes at Wits and University of the Free State.

Started career at SANParks during 1995 as a research technician with scientific services.

During 2001 offered the capture coordinator position at the Veterinary Wildlife Services unit in Kimberley. Key responsibilities was to coordinate all the wildlife capture operations.

• Capture and Translocation of 4400 Wildlife from Kruger NP to Greater Limpopo Transfrontier NP.
• Capture and Relocation of over 3000 Wildlife from Vaalbos NP to the newly established Mokala NP.
• Capture and removal of all buffalo from Marakele NP.
• Capture and Translocation of wildlife sold on auctions.
• Wildlife Translocation projects in SADEC.

• Reintroduction of 116 buffalo to Marakele NP
• Black rhino Range Expansion Projects establishing new populations of over 60 animals in three different areas.
• Capture and Reintroduction of large Mammals to Zinave NP in Mozambique
• Capture, holding and introduction of Black Rhino (Diceros bicornis minor) from South Africa to The Republic of Chad
• Capture and Translocation of over 3000 wildlife from National Parks to Emerging Game Farmers.
